Elder Ruben Lewis, Jr
Following high school and after serving six years in the Navy, the Lord awakened Elder Lewis to the plan He had for his life.
He served more than thirty years at Charlottesville Church of Christ, Charlottesville, VA as a member, deacon, minister and elder. Unfortunately, family matters interfered with his ministry in his later tenure there. Thankfully the Lord Jesus made a way for His return! And it was at this time, unbeknownst to him, that he would meet his future wife.
With the urging from their pastor to move their ministry elsewhere, they searched and considered many churches. However, during their search they both believed the Lord was leading them to Galilee Baptist Church Louisa.
They were married there in 2004.
With the help of Pastor Otis Spellman Elder Lewis began his ministry afresh. He served several years as the pastor of Ridgeway Baptist Church, Scottsville, VA and in 2012 the Lord commissioned him to become pastor of Galilee.
The Bible declares of a pastor, “And no man taketh this honor unto himself, but he that is called of God….” (Hebrews 5:4). Elder Lewis has learned first hand of the difficulties you face while leading the Lord’s flock. It is with this knowledge that he prays continuously for the souls at Galilee and for his ability to be the shepherd the Lord has called him to be.
Despite the struggles Elder Lewis rests in the fact the Lord has placed him as pastor of Galilee and that no matter what devils may rise up, he can not, he will not back away from what the Lord has called him to do.
